Our Mission:

John O’Keefe was a beloved son, brother, friend, and Boston police officer whose life was tragically cut short on January 29, 2022. He deserves to be remembered for the person he was — not lost amid the controversy surrounding the case that bears his name.

Justice for John O’Keefe exists to honor John's memory, preserve the public record, and encourage a thoughtful, evidence-based examination of the circumstances surrounding his death. We believe that truth matters, that accountability matters, and that the dignity of the people affected by this tragedy must never be forgotten.

Our mission also recognizes the profound impact that public controversy can have on witnesses, families, and others involved in the justice system. Harassment, intimidation, defamation, and reputational harm raise serious concerns about the treatment of those who participate in legal proceedings. We believe people should be able to come forward, tell the truth as they know it, and participate in the justice system without fear of threats or abuse.

Although the criminal trial concluded with an acquittal, important questions, public debate, and related civil proceedings continue to shape the broader story.
